The Wedding Experience

The journey from initial inquiry to joining the Hayley Jayne Weddings Crew

You’re engaged! Saying “YES!” to your true love and starting your journey as husband and wife is a huge step. I would love to serve you through photography as you begin your lives together! In order to provide my couples with the tailored wedding experience they deserve, I photograph fewer than ten weddings a year.

Your Wedding Experience begins with a consult call so we can get to know each other - this is a crucial step because we’ll be spending a TON of time together on your wedding day! You’ll tell me all about your wedding plans and what is most important to you and your future spouse. After our call, I’ll provide you with a custom proposal that best fits your wedding day photography needs. Once your contract is signed and your retainer paid, we’ll be officially OFFICIAL!

As you plan your best day ever, I'm happy to be a resource for vendor information and timeline guidance. I’ll check in about three months before the wedding to learn about special details, family formal photos, and anything else you want captured.

I can’t wait to document your best day ever!

How long should we book you for our wedding day?

For most weddings, eight hours is plenty of time for me to capture the story of your wedding day as it unfolds. Six hours can often be enough coverage for smaller weddings.

Are engagement sessions included?

Yes! For me, your engagement session is the most important aspect of your wedding day. It allows us the opportunity to meet in person, and for you and your future husband to get comfortable in front of the camera. Having your own personal paparazzi can be a little weird, so your engagement session will help us work through that awkwardness before your wedding day.

What do you typically photograph on a wedding day?

I typically begin with the details - the dress, bouquet, cufflinks, tie, and so on. Then I’ll move on to portraits of the groom and groomsmen. If the girls are ready, I’ll photograph the bride getting into her dress, solo portraits, and bridesmaids portraits. First Looks or alternatives like private vows come next, then it’s time for the ceremony! We’ll quickly move through family portraits and any other wedding party portrait we didn’t get before the ceremony. If there’s time, I’ll offer my couples a private moment to take it all then, then we’ll move into newlywed portraits. After that, it’s party time!

Do you offer sneak peeks?

You’ll receive a small preview gallery of about 20 photos within 48 hours of your wedding day.

When will we receive the full wedding gallery?

Your full wedding collection will be ready within sixty days of your wedding date! I know that seems like forever, but it is important for me to take my time while editing your wedding photos. I hand edit every single photo in your gallery!.No AI editing here!

Will we receive any prints?

Prints and albums can be added in to your wedding package at booking, or you may purchase print products separately after your wedding gallery is complete. You can actually order prints directly through your gallery! I’m always happy to provide planning and design services for your artwork.

How many photos will we get back?

On average, I deliver around 50-100 photos per hour of wedding day coverage. I do my best to eliminate duplicate photos, and won’t include images that don’t meet my quality standards

How will we get our photos?

Your wedding photos are delivered via an online gallery and are stored for one year from the delivery date.

How do you describe your style?

Artistically, I love to showcase bright, light-filled images with true to life color. I avoid dark, heavy, or distracting backgrounds, and prefer to use natural light as often as I can. Your wedding gallery will include a mixture of candid photos and more traditional posed portraits (the ones grandma’s gonna want to see). Overall, my goal is to document your day as it unfolds - I don’t manufacture moments. I also avoid photography trends - blurry photos, heavy grain, crooked horizons - and strive to create artful images that tell the story of your wedding day as you’ll want to remember it.

Will you bring a second shooter?

I typically have a second shooter or assistant with me at no additional cost to you.

The Investment

Most couples invest an average of $3,000

Payment plans are available.

If you feel ready to move forward after our initial phone consult, all I need is a signed contract and flat retainer fee of $1000 to hold your weekend date (message me for special weekday pricing!). Don't worry, the retainer counts towards your full balance! As I learn more about you as a couple and your wedding plans, we will decide together how I can best serve you on your wedding day, and I'll create a custom collection for you. Then I'll break up the remaining balance into equal payments over time.
