Fall is here—cozy sweaters, golden leaves, apple cider, and all the family fun. To help you soak up this season, I’ve put together a list of simple, joy-filled fall activities the whole family will love. From pumpkin patch adventures to crisp evening walks, it’s all about slowing down and making memories that feel just as warm as your favorite blanket.

Get Outside

With high temperatures and even higher humidity, Greensboro, North Carolina summers can brutal. Fall brings tangible relief and is the perfect time to get outside for some simple fall family fun! You don’t have to drive to the mountains to see beautiful fall colors. Some of my favorite area parks have plenty of trees with perfect fall foliage. Your kids will definitely ask to go to the playground – and you should totally let them! Here are a few of my favorite parks with great walking trails:

Soak in the History

Greensboro, North Carolina has a rich history that dates back earlier than the Revolutionary War! Why not incorporate some history when seeking fall family fun? And if you like ghost stories, some of these historical sites even have spooky nights!

• Guilford Courthouse National Military Park – Not only does this National Park feature some excellent walking trails, there’s a museum that details the timeline of the Revolutionary battle fought here, along with interesting displays of artifacts found within the park! Definitely worth a visit.
• Old Salem – What list of fall family fun would be complete without Old Salem? The two-day ticket is worth it!
• High Point Museum – Free admission! The High Point Museum is an easy way to enjoy fall family fun on the weekend. Walk through the museum to see how High Point became the Furniture Capital of the World, then stroll through the historical park, which includes an active blacksmith shop!

Farm Family Fun

Harvest season is the perfect time to visit a pumpkin patch or pick apples. These are my favorite farms to visit for fall family fun in Greensboro, North Carolina!

• Ingram’s Strawberry Farm – Not just strawberries! Take a tractor ride to their pumpkin patch and don’t forget to feed the goats!
• Whitaker Farms – Visit the garden center for fall blooms and pre-picked pumpkins, and then let the kids run wild in their fall-themed play area!
• Maize Adventure – The folks at Kersey Valley sure know how to foster fall family fun in Greensboro, North Carolina. Take a stroll through the corn maze, ride the train, and check out the giant slide!
• Millstone Creek Orchards – MCO has it all – apple picking, pumpkin patch, farm animals to pet – if you’re looking for traditional fall family fun in Greensboro, North Carolina, this is the place!
